Only 3 Ingredients!!
We have used Young Living Essential Oils for over 25 years in our home and these therapeutic oils have been a life saver for our family on several occasions. In lieu of pharmaceutical pain relieving medicines and store bought creams and lotions, our children became accustomed to healthy alternatives at a young age.
We use Young Living Essential Oils which are all natural, therapeutic oils that work extremely well for many ailments and aches and pains we have all experienced. Winter is coming and we would like to share a great recipe for a homemade vapor rub that will help your family’s fight against cold congestion during the coming cold and flu season.
We have done our best over the years to use all natural treatments for illness whenever feasibly possible. Essential oils give us many possibilities for different recipes to suit different ailments.
None of us enjoy that stuffed up feeling when a cold hits us out of the blue! As adults it is uncomfortable enough and for a child the discomfort is definitely no fun at all. Kids can panic or get very upset when they are unable to breathe properly. Waking up in the night when their little noses are plugged can be a very upsetting experience for them and meaning a sleepless night for all!
This easy recipe is quick to prepare and only uses 3 simple ingredients.
Coconut oil has many uses in our home and this is one of them – we mix 2 oils into this base.
The Ingredients Used include:
Coconut Oil (Buy at your grocery, health food store or even bulk food store)
Young Living Peppermint Essential Oil
Young Living Eucalyptus Essential Oil
Peppermint Essential Oil has many uses including help in taking away headaches, reducing nausea (when a few drops place on tummy) and ability to help reduce fevers. It also has the ability to clear the respiratory tract and open airways while acting as a decongestant.
Eucalyptus Essential Oil has the ability to aid in many cold and flu ailments including sore throat, runny nose or nasal congestion and cough and cold symptoms.
Simple Instructions for your own Batch of Vapor Rub:
Into a medium size mixing bowl measure 1 cup of Coconut Oil.
10 drops of Peppermint Oil and 20 drops of Eucalptus Oil
into the bowl with the Coconut Oil and mix well.
The best way to store your new rub mixture is in a container with a tight fitting lid. Always store your container away from direct heat or sunlight and in a cool, dry place.
You can apply to chest and/or feet as needed.
Now you can be prepared for cold and flu season with your own natural, chemical free solution to your family’s stuffiness!!
Another benefit of Essential Oils – Great aroma that can be energizing and give you a renewed feeling of strength and good health!!
